YG Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as YG) announced on its official position on the 21st that Yang Hyun-seok, the executive producer, met with Lee Chan-hyuk and Soohyun Lee, members of AKMU, six months ago and had an honest conversation.
YG said, `The only concern of AKMU was whether to continue with YG, who has been in the company of the past 12 years, or to become independent for a new challengeDirector Yang encouraged the members by expressing his opinion that it would be a good experience to try music activities in a new environment outside of YG's arms to Akmu, who was struggling at the crossroads of two choices, and expressed his sincere intention to support them from behind," he said.
AKMU chose YG as its agency after winning the SBS audition program 'K-Pop Star Season 2' in 2013. Since then, he has released his first full-length album with the title song '200%' and 'Give Love' in 2014, and has released numerous hits.
