Meanwhile, Oh Yeon-soo is married to actor Son Ji-chang and has two sons. Oh Yeon-soo left for the U.S. in 2014 to take care of his two sons' study abroad and spent seven years. Through the YouTube channel, Oh Yeon-soo said, "I expected two years of living in the U.S., but it has been much longer," adding, "If I send only the kids to study, I will regret it for a while, so I followed them, but I wouldn't have gone if I was worried about my career break as an actor." Now, the children are so grateful that their mother was with them, and I think they had a really precious time with their family."

Since then, Oh Yeon-soo has been living in and out of the U.S. again for his son, who returned to school after being discharged from the military. In particular, Oh Yeon-soo "Two American universities during the high exchange rate era. I can't tell them not to go to school because of the high exchange rate, and they live in two houses in the United States because the region is different. The eldest one is fortunate to graduate in April, but the second one is discharged from the military and it's just the beginning."
