In EBS and E-Channel co-production 'Seo Jang-hoon's Neighborhood Millionaires' (hereinafter 'Neighborhood Millionaires', which aired on the 28th, Kang Yoon-sun, head of the hair franchise with 182 domestic branches and 3,500 employees, appeared. His hair shop, which has been growing steadily for more than 40 years, has continued to grow in Korea and the world, being selected as one of the world's top 10 hair brands (source: Wella) in 2005. The annual sales amount to 300 billion won.
Born in a poor neighborhood, Kang began beauty care at the age of 17 to make a living, and started his first shop in Donam-dong at the young age of 22. Because I was penniless, I owed a large amount of money for a few days from the beginning, but the number of days was my drain. The high interest was rather a strong motivation for him to confess that he had to work. His salon quickly increased the number of branches thanks to his desperate efforts to go out on the street, make word of mouth, put out banners with sincerity toward customers, etc.
Kang Yoon-sun, who had been on the path of success as a hairdresser, put down scissors and jumped into the path of a full-fledged manager after 10 years. How dare a woman drive?" When he was listening, Kang Yoon-sun educated his employees on leadership and human relations to become competitive. In 1993, he took 19 employees to study in the UK with 200 million won in the money he sold without his husband's knowledge. This work became a turning point in his life and the foundation for establishing a beauty academy. Currently, the eight-story building academy in the middle of Cheongdam-dong is training future hair designers through systematic education.
Kang Yoon-sun also confessed his extraordinary philosophy about money, saying, `I spend it on education or increasing stores.' Even now, he is focusing on cultivating talent through education and creating jobs by increasing stores. Seo Jang-hoon expressed his admiration by saying, `It is a tremendous contribution to society just by continuing to increase jobs.' Lastly, Kang Yoon-sun said, "I wish the hair salon would stay even without me.", and expressed his dream of '500-year enterprise". In response, Seo Jang-hoon "I've heard about 500 years of the Joseon Dynasty...," he said, adding a smile.
Next week, the `Man Who Became a Millionaire from Garbage' episode will air. EBS, E-Channel 'Seo Jang-hoon's Neighborhood Millionaires' airs every Wednesday night at 9:55 p.m.
