AStory Announces 202526 Project Roadmap..New work by Park Jae-beom → Tentpole SF genre work

AStory (241840) has announced a project roadmap for 2025 and 26.

A-story has completed a total of seven drama production roadmaps with various genres, fresh materials, and high cinematic quality. Among them, the first work that will be visited by viewers is 'Idol Eye' (tentative). "'Idol' is a legal suspense mystery romantic comedy about a top star lawyer and an idol who hates extreme fans the most in the world. It is currently in the middle of filming with the aim of airing in the second half of this year.

In addition, A-Story will accelerate the production of dramas 'Insal', 'By the River Where Evil Is Flowing', and 'Suseonggung Secret Memoir' that will maximize genre characteristics to provide new fun to viewers. The police family's delightful investigative action play 'Insal' is a pleasant, refreshing, and exhilarating story of a former police reward hunter 'Park Chang' who hits his brothers and criminals. Kim Jae-young, the author of 『Ghost Day』, plans to work together again to produce a 12-part mini-series.

"On the River With Evil" is an occult melodrama in which a woman who lives a strange life of a shaman and a man who has lived a life marked by violence go against the providence of life and death to save each other. Expectations are already soaring for the tentpole K-occult genre, which will be newly introduced by AStory, who produced the `Kingdom" series, which became a global box office sensation by opening the `K-zombie.'

The Secret Records of Suseongguk contain the records of love and secrets written by the literary court lady 'Eunyeong' and the favorite prince 'Hyang'. Director Park Soo-jin, who directed the dramas "Why Oh Soo-jae" and "Praise of the Company", and Lee Eun-mi, who was discovered in the Korea Creative Content Agency's Emerging Writers Project, will work together to color the small screen with excitement.

The A-story Tentpole drama is also getting ready to throw its hat in the ring. The prelude is a new work by Park Jae-beom, who built his own genre through the series "Good Doctor", "Vincenzo", and "Fiery Priest". The story of 'Ambers' will unfold in which an ambitious poison agent of the National Security Agency, whose state and organization are all in life, camouflages himself at a broadcasting station to uncover spies, and deeply appreciates his false beliefs and sins that will not be forgiven even if he dies.

A-story is also planning to produce two tent poles, including 'Ember'. Cyberpunk action dramas 'Mudang'(tentative) and Jang Young-chul?The main character is 'Ricky', which Jung Kyung-soon is writing the script. 'Mudang' is a mega-seasonal project that will be the beginning of Korean science fiction that is differentiated from Hollywood-style science fiction fantasy, and unravels a cyberpunk story against the backdrop of a unified Korea in the near future.

Another tentpole drama 'Riki' depicts the hidden story of a Korean Japanese (Zainichi) with the main characters of wrestler 'Karatechop', who defeated the Japanese professional wrestling community again, and 'Hakchigi King'Kim Il, who caused a pro wrestling boom in Korea. It is expected that the heavy writing skills of the two veteran writers will be added to the different materials that have not been covered so far, giving viewers a deep resonance.

In addition, A-story continues to contribute to the development of domestic dramas. The 「New Writer Debut Program」, which has served as a candidate for new writers for 10 years since 2016, was completed with enthusiastic support with more than 500 works submitted this year. It is evaluated that it will discover creators with novel ideas and skills and add a new trend in the content market. In particular, the 2023 drama 'Sand Blooms" and 'Sunggung Secret Memoir' to be produced in the second half of this year are all works by writers selected through the 「New Writer Debut Program」.

In addition, the first open audition for actors in the second half of last year will be held this year as well. In order to provide more opportunities for talented and passionate actors to participate in the work, AStory decided to regularize open auditions like the 「New Writer Debut Program」 held in the first half of every year. Two of the actors who were finally selected in 2024 are working on filming the new drama IdolI, and another actor recently signed an exclusive contract with AStory's actor management subsidiary, AIMC, which has paid off meaningfully. The successful candidates of this audition will also be put into A-story dramas produced in the second half of the year.

AStory is also actively engaged in IP-based content production business. It said that the global remake of the best K-drama in name and reality that caused the `Woo Young-woo syndrome' at home and abroad in 2022 is going smoothly. In addition, 'Ghost Day', which has drawn attention as a well-made drama, is drawing attention as the remake is confirmed in three countries. The Japanese version of 'Ghost Day' began filming locally this month, while the British version said it was engaged in European broadcasting channels and OTT selection, along with active script adaptation progress.
