According to the legal community on the 2nd, the Seoul High Court's Criminal Department 10-1 (Chief Judge Lee Sang-ho, Lee Jae-shin, and Jung Hyun-kyung) sentenced a woman in her 30s to seven years in prison, the same as the first trial, on charges of violating the law on aggravated punishment of certain economic crimes.
A was put on trial on charges of secretly recording a private conversation with Kim Jun-su and threatening to distribute it on social media, extorting a total of about 840 million won.
The crime period is from September 2020 to October 2023, and it was investigated that the threat was systematically continued over a long period of time.
The Appeals Tribunal said "The two mobile phones and smartphone devices used by the defendant as a means of intimidation stored related materials such as recorded files of conversations with the victim."He also ordered additional confiscation, judging that there is a high possibility of additional damage if the device is returned to the defendant.
The court did not separately judge A's appeal that the sentence was heavy, but only accepted the prosecution's appeal and revised some of the rulings.
Earlier, A was sentenced to seven years in prison in the first trial.
Kim Jun-su's agency, Palm Tree Island, took all defamatory acts, including malicious slander, spreading false information, and personal attacks against artists, very seriously in November last year. Accordingly, I would like to inform you that we have appointed Kim & Chang, a law firm, to take strong legal action" he said.
In particular, it has declared a strong legal response, referring to some rigid community names.
