Lee Young-ae's play 'Hedda Gabler' opened on the 7th.

'Hedda Gabler' is a play produced by LG Art Center to mark its 25th anniversary, and the first performance began at LG Art Center Seoul LG SIGNATURE Hall on the same day.

A total of seven actors, including actor Lee Young-ae, Kim Jung-ho, Ji Hyun-joon, Lee Seung-joo, Baek Ji-won, Lee Jung-mi, and Jo Ji-jin, performed highly immersive performances for two and a half hours on the stage that turned into the home of Heda, receiving enthusiastic applause and cheers from the audience on the first day of the opening.

In particular, Lee Young-ae, who had high expectations by returning to the theater stage for the first time in 32 years, was Hedda itself. He captured the attention of the audience by expressing the complex emotions of Heda, the main character, a mixture of solitude and desire, cynicism and anger with restrained energy. From the first appearance to the last curtain call, not a single scene filled the stage with an eye-watering presence.

Meanwhile, 'Hedda Gabler' is a performance that recreates Ibsen's classics with a modern sense using minimal stages and large screens. The performance was based on a modern adaptation by Richard Ear, winner of the Olivier Award for Best Director, Best Revival (2006), Britain's most prestigious performing arts award. The director was directed by Jeon In-cheol, who is the main character of the 54th Dong-A Theater Awards and is called the "Master of Fine Text Analysis", and depicts the timeless nature and psychology of humans in detail.

'Hedda Gabler' will be performed until the 8th of next month.
