According to Media Today on the 21st, MBC announced that it had terminated its contract with weatherman A on the 20th. The Ministry of Employment and Labor is said to have identified one of the perpetrators of the harassment against Ocaster. MBC-level action was not taken against other weathermen previously identified by bereaved families as perpetrators.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor conducted a special labor supervision of MBC for about three months from February and finally concluded that there was bullying of the late Oyoanna. However, it was judged that it was difficult to punish those involved because it was difficult for the deceased to be recognized as a 'worker' under the Labor Standards Act. It is unusual to admit harassment while confirming that he is not a worker.
In response, Jang Yeon-mi, the mother of the deceased, said "It doesn't make sense. How can you not be a worker when you used a freelance contract and used it by public recruitment. Our daughter did everything MBC told her to do"I strongly protested.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor recognized 25 people as workers through a separate survey of MBC freelancers, uncovered a total of six violations of labor-related laws and imposed a fine of 15 million won on MBC.

Anchor Cho Hyun-yong said, "We will improve the overall organizational culture along with measures taken by those involved."We will establish a new co-prosperity cooperation officer and establish a system that can immediately report problems arising between freelancers and non-regular workers through third parties." he said.
It will also conduct legal review on the workmanship of freelancers and implement reasonable measures," he added. And then "OhOnce again, I apologize to the bereaved family for the unfortunate incident of Anna. I pray for the repose of the deceased."
However, on the morning of the 20th, the next day, Kim Ga-young, a weatherman who was controversial for being mentioned as a perpetrator, received strong complaints from viewers as he made a weather forecast without any change.
Meanwhile, Oyoanna died in September 2023, and the obituary was only known to the outside world three months later. The 17-page suicide note found on the deceased's mobile phone later caused a social stir as it contained that he had been bullied at work by fellow weathermen. Currently, the bereaved family has filed a civil lawsuit against one colleague who was identified as the perpetrator.
