By having KLAP as a subsidiary, Blitzway will expand its business area in earnest from actor and drama content-oriented to K-POP artist management. The acquisition is part of the 'Content-Centered Strategy' that is being pursued since the name change, and is expected to incorporate the music industry as a new business axis and accelerate its growth into an IP-based comprehensive entertainment company.
KLAP Entertainment is a professional label that has successfully led a variety of project groups, including the global girl group Kep1er, JTBC's Final Winner'VANNER, and SISTAR19, which were created through Mnet'Girls Planet 999'. Currently, KLAP Entertainment is led by Lee Sun, a former head of CJ ENM's music business department and CEO of WAKEONE. Lee has consistently demonstrated the potential of artist IP to expand overseas markets based on his experience of successful many global projects and his extensive network.
Bae Sung-woong, chairman of Blitzway Entertainment, expressed his expectation, saying, "This acquisition goes beyond just a combination of labels, and KLAP's music production capabilities and global distribution network will meet Blitzway's content infrastructure to create strong synergy." Regarding the recent shift from 'Blitzway Studio' to 'Blitzway Entertainment', he added that the KLAP acquisition brings us one step closer to building a comprehensive IP branding system that integrates the music sector.
KLAP, which has been incorporated as a subsidiary of Blitzway, plans to speed up the recruitment and fostering of K-pop artists in the future. In particular, it plans to establish a new development system that transcends content and performance by focusing on fostering 'crossover artists' who can perform music and acting at the same time. Through this, strategic operations are expected to secure both the availability of artist IP and market scalability.
Meanwhile, Blitzway Entertainment, which incorporated KLAP as a subsidiary, has actors active in various genres such as Joo Ji-hoon, Jeong Ryeo-won, Chun Woo-hee, Moon Chae-won, In Kyo-jin, So Yi-hyun, Son Dam-bi, Park Ha-sun, Woo Do-hwan, Jeong In-sun, Yoon Park, Kwak Dong-yeon, Kim Ye-rim, and Chae Seo-an. The music industry is added to the entertainment system, which has been built on actor management and content production capabilities, and Blitzway continues its three-dimensional expansion across the content industry.
