The first trial of Taeil (Moon Tae-il, 31), a former member of NCT, who was indicted without detention on special quasi-rape charges, has been postponed to June.

According to the legal community, Taeil's first trial date was originally changed from May 12 to June 18, when he was accused of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Violent Crimes.

It was suddenly delayed for about a month. The reason for the delay is not known in detail, but the third trial on former President Yoon Suk Yeol's rebellion is scheduled at the Seoul Central District Court on the 12th, which is interpreted as reflecting safety and operational reasons within the court.

Taeil is accused of sexually assaulting a drunken woman with two acquaintances in June last year. Due to the incident, he was expelled from the group NCT, and his exclusive contract with his agency SM Entertainment was terminated.

After receiving the victim's report in June last year, the Seoul Bangbae Police Station applied for an arrest warrant for three suspects, including Taeil, but the court rejected the warrant, saying the need for arrest was low because they admitted the crime.

After that, the police summoned Taeil in August of the same year to investigate and sent him to the prosecution in September, and the prosecution indicted them on special quasi-rape charges in February after a reinforcing investigation. Special quasi-rape charges are established when two or more people possess a weapon or commit adultery or harassment against an opponent who is mentally or physically lost or unable to protest. They are said to have no weapons.

On the other hand, a photo of a man believed to be Taeil drinking at a restaurant with his acquaintances has recently been posted on the online community, which has been controversial. The writer in question read "Moon Tae-il. He was drinking before the first trial. I took it because my friend happened to see it while eating, but an acquaintance next to me wrote that he said, `Please don't take pictures because my younger brother (Taeil) is having a hard time.'
