Mr. A, who was identified as the perpetrator of the harassment of the late MBC weatherman Oyoanna, will stand in court.

According to the legal community on the 27th, a lawsuit filed by Oyoanna's bereaved family against her colleague A, who was identified as a perpetrator of bullying in the workplace, will begin a full-fledged hearing at the Seoul Central District Court on July 22.

Earlier, the court set the date for the judgment of the case without argument on March 27, but the sentence was canceled when A belatedly submitted a legal representative's letter of attorney. If the defendant does not submit a response after the plaintiff submits a complaint, the court usually makes a no-argument ruling that cites the plaintiff's argument, but if the defendant responds, it will be converted to a formal pleading process.

Oyo Anna died in September last year. However, the deceased's sad news was not known to the outside until December of that year, three months later, and a 17-page suicide note found on the deceased's mobile phone in January revealed that he had been bullied at work while he was alive. The suicide note contained a confession that he had been repeatedly bullied by fellow weathermen, and the repercussions grew online and on YouTube as four fellow weathermen were identified as perpetrators.

The bereaved family filed a civil lawsuit against A among them. MBC belatedly set up a fact-finding committee under public pressure, and the Ministry of Employment and Labor also launched a special labor supervision.

The Ministry of Labor said on the 19th that `there was an act that could be considered bullyingWhile judging that "weather casters are not classified as workers under the Labor Standards Act, the legal" clause is difficult to apply" he said.

MBC, which was criticized for pushing ahead with the appearance of weathercasters who were identified as perpetrators even after the incident was known, offered condolences to the deceased and their bereaved families in an official position in May, shortly after the announcement of the results of the Ministry of Employment and Labor's investigation. He then decided to terminate the contract with A, who was identified as the perpetrator as a measure against the person involved.

However, it is known that the other three weather forecasters have renewed their contracts, and controversy over their authenticity continues. In addition, attention is focused on whether MBC will take additional measures as well as legal action by bereaved families according to the results of the trial scheduled in July.
