BLACKPINK’s Rose Makes History with 8 MTV VMA Nominations



Group BLACKPINK Rose wrote the first K-pop milestone.

The list of nominees for the 2025 MTV VMA (Video Music Awards) was released on the 5th (local time). According to the report, Rosé was nominated for a total of eight categories.

Rosé was nominated for seven categories, including 'Apartment' with Bruno Mars' Video of the Year'Song of the Year'Best Collaboration'Best Pop'Best Directing'Best Art Director'Best Visual Effects'. The solo album's song "Toxic Tildee End" was nominated for "Best K-pop".




This is the first and best record ever for a K-pop solo artist. Rosé is also the first female K-pop solo artist to be nominated for multiple awards at the ceremony.

With eight nominations, Rosé was included in the most nominations lineup, along with Lady Gaga (12), Bruno Mars (11), Kendrick Lamar (10), Sabrina Carpenter (8), Ariana Grande and The Weeknd (7).
