In the 2000s, he gained recognition by playing the roles of chairman and president in 'Complete Love', 'Lovers in Paris', 'Cute or Crazy', 'Bravo My Life', and 'Smile Donghaeya'.
Based on his grave appearance and low but solid voice, the deceased was greatly loved for recognizing the aura that only Kim Sung-won could have.
In particular, he made a strong impression by playing Park Shin-yang's father Han Sung-hoon in the SBS drama 「Lovers in Paris」, which ended with a highest viewership rating of 57.6% in 2004.
The last work activity was MBN 'Korean political history', which was broadcast in 2013.
