Kim Ye-rim met with Sports Chosun at the Blitzway headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 5th and had an interview with the end of 'Cheongdam International High School 2' (played by Kwak Young-im, directed by Lee Yong-woong and Park Hyung-won). Kim Ye-rim broke up with SM Entertainment, where she spent most of her life this year, and built a new nest in Blitzway. Kim Ye-rim "My contract expired in March, but I filmed the drama until February. When I finished filming it, it was time for the contract to end. I couldn't have a meeting while filming the drama. That's why Blitzway, which is now in place, had a meeting at the end of the drama or after it. So I'm glad I met some really good people, but I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't. I tend to have no countermeasures. Filming ends in February, but the contract ends a few weeks later. But how can it become a duck egg on the Nakdonggang River. So I felt fortunate that I met a good company."
Kim Ye-rim then said "I've been acting while working on Red Velvet, and I've learned the fun of acting. Actually, I've taken acting classes separately since I was a trainee. While I was a trainee since I was in elementary school, I gained experience in acting by taking acting classes at that time. I kept thinking that I wanted to make my debut one day and act, but I was so busy during my debut that I went abroad and went to the countryside, and when I opened my eyes, I was abroad, so I couldn't do multiple things well, and I thought that I wanted to act when I could concentrate. But at some point, it was so fun to start acting. As a different me, it was good to vent my emotions in a different way than a singer, and as a result, I felt that I wanted to try acting more and more in earnest. I think that's why I was vaguely interested in acting companies."
Commenting on the difference between SM Entertainment and Blitzway, Kim Ye-rim has been at SM for too long since she was a kid. I've been around since I was in elementary school, but I really felt like I was leaving my daughter and starting to live alone. When the company members came and terminated the contract, they said 'It's really a shame' and said goodbye, got along well, and I felt that they were supporting me. It might be a strange place, but the Blitzway company people take care of me as warm as people I knew before. Since I'm a snail, there are a lot of delicate people here. The managers are men, and they texted me yesterday, 'It's an interview schedule tomorrow' and wrote 'Clothes (not Yerim's usual clothes)'. They wrote it just in case. I think they used it because I always wear training clothes. The CEO is also sad, but he always treats me like a father. He said, "I'm used to it because you're delicate and caring."
He still boasts a special friendship with Red Velvet members. Kim Ye-rim said, `We talked a lot about this and that in the practice room before the contract was terminated with the members. It seems that he naturally said how he wanted to move on. But even if I don't say it, I think it's a healthy relationship that can support someone who wants to sing more, someone who knows that they want to act, and whatever they do. Perhaps it's because we've seen each other since we were young, but rather than thinking that we're working together, it feels like real sisters. Even Irene and I lived together since elementary school. So it's really going to be a working relationship. Even if I'm a little annoyed, I quickly get together with 'What is it?' and there's nothing annoying about it now. When I was living in the dorm, I was annoyed to walk at some point, just like real sisters, and there were times when I said, `You should walk quietly,' but now I love it. I drink with Irene the most. In fact, it's a cold image that doesn't seem like a drop of blood will come out even if you poke it, but the two of them meet most often. Of course, Red Velvet's activities are full of will. This time feels more precious because it's our 10th anniversary this year. Kim Ye-rim said "Of course, I want to do it if the schedule fits. The fans are also waiting. Music activities are open, and I think this has changed a little bit. Everything is set while you're in SM, so you can do it at that time, but this is a situation where you can't be set. I think that's the difference. But of course, everything about Red Velvet's activities is so good, and I think it's so good because it's actually funny whenever we meet."
Cheongdam International High School 2 is the sequel to Season 1, which was released in 2023, and is a high-teen psychological thriller with youth romance, depicting the Diamond 6 split after Oh's fall and the shaky class order of Cheongdam International High School. In the play, Kim Ye-rim played the queen of Cheongguk High School, Baekjena, and depicted a variety of stories ranging from deep inner acting to power struggles.
