Justin Timberlake, a world-renowned pop star, recently explained the criticism of fans over his stage attitude by revealing his fight against Lyme disease.

Timberlake posted on his Instagram page July 31 (Reuters) - "I've been battling some recent health issues, and I've been diagnosed with Lyme disease."This disease is constantly debilitating mentally and physically," he said.

He said "It was a shock when I was first diagnosed, but at least I could understand why I felt symptoms like neuralgia, extreme fatigue, and body aches on stage", he explained.

Timberlake, 44, finished his two-year world tour of 41 cities on the 30th. However, some performances in the second half of the tour showed a lack of energy, which was criticized as an insincere stage. In particular, the controversy grew as scenes of handing over the microphone to the audience during the performance and taking a break from singing spread to various SNS and online communities.

He explained why he continued the performance, saying, `I thought about stopping the tour, but the joy of the performance was much greater than the temporary stress felt by my body.'

Timberlake did not say when he was diagnosed, but tried to share the difficulty honestly so that he wouldn't misunderstand it"I hope it will help those suffering from the same disease."

Lyme disease is a disease that is infected by tick bites and causes flu-like symptoms such as fever, fatigue, headache, and muscle and joint pain. Delayed treatment can worsen with arthritis, nervous system abnormalities, and facial paralysis. Antibiotic treatment is possible, but some patients have long-lasting fatigue after treatment. For prevention, it is important to wear long sleeves and long pants and check ticks during outdoor activities.
