Mukjjjibba, we're all together as a variety show..I'll reveal my weight, too. (Full Hills)

Disney+, a world-renowned streaming service that provides the best entertainment experience with excellent storytelling and innovative content, has released a written interview with producer Kim Ki-tae, directed by the new concept entertainment project 'Weekly Entertainment Hall: Bully Hills' of the week-long entertainment comprehensive playground'.

『Baebulian Hills』, which will be released on Disney+ on the 24th (Sun), is a new concept of eating show presented by Yuk So-young and Kim Bo-ram, starting with producer Kim Ki-tae, who directed 『Baebulian" and six aliens who can only return to 『Baebulian" by eating high-calorie food. Seo Jang-hoon, mirage, Shin Dong, Lee Kyu-ho, Satire, and Na Seon-wook are expected to provide strong fun by carrying out missions beyond imagination every week. Therefore, the full text of the interview with the behind-the-scenes production of producer Kim Ki-tae, the head of the 「Baebul Hills" will be released.

Q1. Once again, the crew and cast of 'Dengchi Survival-Mukjjipa' (hereinafter 'Mukjipa'). What led you to plan this work?

A1. Since 'Mukjjippa', the love for the program by Seo Jang-hoon and other cast members has been very different. Even after the filming was over, seeing you become close like a real family, I thought 'It's too bad to just bury this chemistry. In fact, after the end of "Mukjjipa", the viewers kept expressing their disappointment, "My precious Bob friend disappeared" and "When will the new season come out?" Seeing those reactions, I wanted to continue this special relationship in another form. I thought about creating a new format of entertainment with the members of 'Mukjjipa', and it was done quickly from planning to production. This was possible purely because of the cast. When we met again after a year and asked for a job, everyone was so willing to join us, so I was impressed. It was a project that could never have started without the affection and support of the performers, so I'm still very grateful.

Q2. This work was produced in mid-form for about 30 minutes. I wonder what is the biggest difference in directing, and what is the point that you were particularly concerned about or worried about.

A2. The core of the production was the harmony of familiarity and novelty. The key was to reinterpret the long-form variety, which aired for more than an hour in prime time on weekends, into OTT mid-forms with a compressed time of 30 minutes. The final goal set for this was to create an entertainment show that was easy and comfortable, that would allow you to put your complex thoughts down and laugh to your heart's content.

The most important thing in this process was not to miss the essential elements. I thought the appeal was the intuitive mission structure that can be understood immediately without complicated explanations and the beauty of eating shows that are full just by looking at them. The strategy was to add an unusual worldview and concept to this familiar structure that fits OTT midform.

In the editing section, we focused on the rhythm of connecting addictive shorts videos in line with the current viewing trend that is familiar with short-form contents. Throughout the short 30-minute period, it gave viewers a boost to immersive editing that allowed them to burst into a series of laughter without time to breathe. I think it's a good variety show to watch on the subway on the way home from work or as a food friend.

Q3. It's interesting to see the concept of the cast as aliens who crash-landed on Earth on a planet called 'Baebulian Hills'. What was the starting point of this concept?

A3. In the beginning, I had a lot of thoughts about what differentiated new concept I should bring. According to recent trends, there are many people who are attracted to the mid-form composition, unique worldview, and fake documentary format. I wanted to incorporate those elements naturally, and after a lot of brainstorming, the concepts of 'Bullied Hills' and 'Bullian' were completed.

At first, I was worried if it was too empty, but the more I thought about it, the more I was convinced that this concept really suited our members' personalities and characters. I was especially surprised that the members were much more serious than I expected. Since it is the first alien entertainment show in Korea, we expect that viewers will be able to approach it more interestingly.

Q4. There are many programs about food and mukbang, what do you think is the competitiveness of 'Bully Hills'?

A4. There are a lot of good programs to enjoy and eat, but I don't think there's a program to eat 'desperately' like us. The members worked really hard on the mission because of the concept that we need to collect 1 million kilocalories to go back to our hometowns. If I failed, I really starved. Especially while filming throughout the summer, I felt sorry for the performers who were struggling with the heat. Even in front of the missions and experiences that I've never done in my life, the members participated with fun and passion.

In each episode, we prepared special missions in various and different places such as prisons, gyms, amusement parks, and ice rinks. If you watch where and through what missions you collect calories, and the vivid process, you will definitely be able to enjoy a different fun than other eating programs.

Q5. Seo Jang-hoon, mirage, Shindong, Lee Kyu-ho, satire, and Na Seon-wook are here. What was the actual chemistry between the cast in the field?

A5. There was no need to worry at all because the chemistry of the cast has been strong loyalty since 'Mukjjibba'. Even though we met after a long time, they remembered a lot about each other. As it was released through the OTT platform, the chemistry was revealed more pleasantly because it was possible to freely express outspoken and honest expressions that were difficult to try on existing terrestrial broadcasters.

As for the behind-the-scenes story, there were a lot of really embarrassing moments. For example, you have to carry out missions while riding a Viking, but there were a lot of members who couldn't even start because the safety bar wasn't right. Also, I thought I prepared as much food as possible as a reward for the mission, but I remember that I ordered additional food in a hurry because it looked so shabby in front of them.

Among them, the most impressive thing was that Seo Jang-hoon was completely immersed in the alien concept. I was worried about how you would accept this quirky and new concept from the first shooting, but other members were so enthusiastic that they said "Jang Hoon heard a ghost". It was really lovely to see the members keep joking around like, "When are we going back to Bully Hills?" even after the shooting. He complained that he didn't know he was coming out as an alien before he appeared, but he gradually fell in love with the concept and watched the members 'Bully Hills'.

Q6. If you were to choose an episode that you should pay attention to the most, what episode would it be?

A6. I recommend the 1st and 2nd sessions. The unique world view of the program is introduced in earnest, and each member who became an alien clearly reveals their attractive characters. On top of that, there are a lot of things to see, from dizzying and fun missions where the members' weight is revealed. Through the two episodes, I'm sure that if viewers naturally immerse themselves in this special concept with the members, it will be the perfect foothold for them to enjoy the future episodes even more. Since then, various concepts such as underwater missions and the hungry life of 'Babulian' have unfolded like a roller coaster, so if you watch the first and second episodes, you will be able to enjoy the future episodes.

Q7. Please say something to Disney+ subscribers who are waiting for the "Bully Hills".

A7. These days, there are many interesting entertainment shows and unique contents, but I'm proud that there's no entertainment show that makes a performer suffer more than 'Bully Hills'. From pulling 700kg tires under the scorching sun to the extreme alien chewy mission, the cast and crew worked really hard for the viewers to laugh. It may be tacky, but in the end, I believe that entertainment becomes more fun as the creator and the person who comes out struggle, and I made it hoping that the belief would be strong. I'll serve you properly.

Disney+'s 'Weekly Entertainment Hall: The Bully Hills' of the week-long entertainment comprehensive playground' will be released on Disney+ every Sunday at 8 a.m., starting with its first release on Sunday, August 24.
