Professor Yoon Moo-bu, a new doctor, passed away today (15th)…He was 84 years old



Yoon Moo-bu, an honorary professor of biology at Kyung Hee University known as 'Dr. New' has passed away.

According to the bereaved family on the 15th, Professor Yoon died at Kyung Hee Medical Center at around 0:01 that day. He was 84.

Professor Yoon succeeded in rehabilitation after collapsing from a cerebral infarction in 2006, but recurred in June and was battling the disease at Kyung Hee Medical Center.




The deceased is from Jangseungpo-eup, Tongyeong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, and graduated from Kyung Hee University's Department of Biology and Graduate School. In 1995, he obtained a doctorate in biology from the Korea National University of Education with a thesis titled 「Geographical Variations of Whistling Birds Song」 living in Korea.

Professor Yoon was loved by the public for his easy and interesting unraveling of the birds' ecology through various broadcasts, including KBS 'Quiz Exploration Mystery World'. From the 1980s to the 1990s, he appeared in commercial commercials. In 2023, he appeared on MBN 'Special World' and shared his updates for the first time in a long time.
