A project film commemorating the 25th anniversary of the art movie theater 'CineCube' run by Taekwang Group's media affiliate T-Cast attracted the attention of the audience and critics as it sold out at the 30th Busan International Film Festival.

This work is based on the philosophy that the theater is not just a screening space, but a 'movie space' where the life, emotions, and memories of the audience accumulate. The short omnibus format 'Theatrical Times' involving director Lee Jong-pil and Yoon Ga-eun is a project that takes over the CineCube's identity over the past 25 years and re-illuminates the artistic and social meaning of the place.

The first screening, which took place at Lotte Cinema Centum City Hall 5 on the 19th, proved high expectations by selling out about 200 seats. After the screening, conversations with the audience took place, and directors and actors introduced the message contained in the film and communicated with the audience in depth. In particular, there are scenes that are art-movie colors and induce pleasant laughter everywhere, and the audience enjoyed the movie with a comfortable burst of laughter even in seriousness throughout the screening.

President Lee Jae-myung and First Lady Kim Hye-kyung attended the second official screening and dialogue with the audience held at Cinema Tech in the Seoul Cinema Center on the 20th, drawing attention. After watching the movie, the president and his wife participated in dialogue with the audience with directors and actors, and this attendance was considered a meaningful event to show the government's special affection for the film industry and filmmakers on the 30th anniversary of the Busan International Film Festival. At the time, President Lee asked how much it would cost to produce, and director Lee Jong-pil received about W70 million and W80 million, respectively, from CineCube. But no matter how much money you get, you always don't have enough money. I think it's up to the director to do well within a limited budget", he replied.

On the 21st, the stage greeting was successful with about 2,000 audiences gathered on the outdoor stage of the Seoul Cinema Center. The directors and actors went up to the audience and delivered the message contained in the work, and the audience responded with enthusiastic applause and cheers to create the atmosphere of the festival.

CineCube is Korea's leading art theater launched with the idea of Lee Ho-jin, former chairman of Taekwang Group. It emphasizes workability and social message over commerciality, and has played a central role in independent and artistic film screening for the past 25 years. This project is more meaningful in that it is the first attempt by a movie theater as the subject of creation beyond just a theater.

Producer Jeong Je-ju, who oversaw the project, said "This anthology work will serve as an opportunity to expand the social value of art theaters through collaboration with young creators and to explore a new production ecosystem in the film industry."

Park Ji-ye, head of the CineCube team at T-Cast, said "This 『Theatrical Times" anthology project is a meaningful work to expand the spirit of CineCube's 25 years with new creators" We would like to share with the audience that the theater is not just a screening space, but a place where memories, emotions, and inspiration intersect. CineCube's various projects to celebrate its 25th anniversary are set to continue throughout the year."
