BLACKPINK Jenny moves into a building with a monthly rent of 60 million won...Controversy over building law violations

The group BLACKPINK Jenny has decided to move.

Jenny will move her private label Odd Atelier office to a new small building in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul in early November.

The new office building is a small building with 1 basement floor to 4 floors above ground, with a total floor area of 927㎡ (about 280 pyeong). The building was designed by Hong Tae-sun, the only U.S. architect operating in Korea who was appointed as an honorary member of the 2024 American Architects Association, and was on the rental market with a deposit of 1.5 to 2.5 billion won and a monthly rent of 60 to 80 million won as of the end of last year. The sale price is estimated at around 45 billion won.

Jenny decided to move as the lease on a detached house in Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, which she is currently using as an office, expired in October. The former office changed the building, which was originally licensed as an art museum, to an office without permission, and there was a controversy over the violation of the building law. Yongsan-gu District Office will impose administrative measures on the owner of the building.

Jenny is currently on the Blackpink World Tour 'Deadline'. BLACKPINK's full-length world tour is the first in more than two years since "Born Pink", which drew 1.8 million people and set a record for the largest tour in K-pop girl group history.

On this tour, Blackpink is leaving a meaningful footprint in both scale and symbolism, entering the Wembley Stadium in London, England, the first K-pop girl group to be called the "Dream Stage". BLACKPINK will continue its 'Deadline' tour in Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong. In November, she will come back with a new album.
