DAY6 Celebrates 10th Anniversary with New Album ‘The Decade’

DAY6 will release a new full-length album 'The Decade' at 6 p.m. on the 5th. DAY6's full-length album is the first in five years and 11 months since its third full-length album 'The Book of Us: Entropy' released on October 22, 2019.
The album includes the title tracks 'Dream Bus' and 'Inside Out'Don't let it appear at all'Disco Day'My Way' in front of the stars'Take All My Heart'Fly! A total of 10 songs were included, including Dream Rider"'Our Season'.
In particular, DAY6 renewed its contract with its agency JYP Entertainment once again ahead of its 10th anniversary on the 7th, signaling another leap forward.

- How do you feel about making a comeback with a full-length album to mark the 10th anniversary of your debut. What does 'The Decade' mean?
▶Sungjin: When I make a song, I try my best to do it regardless of the album type. I'm just thankful that I'm doing music until the 10th anniversary of my debut. I think this album will be remembered for a long time as a special album commemorating the 10th anniversary.
Young K: It's an opportunity to look back on the past 10 years, and at the same time, it feels like a new chapter is starting. Thank you to everyone who has come with me so far, and I feel affectionate. I'm also looking forward to the future.
Won-pil: The 10th anniversary is coming for us, too. I only thought it was a long future, but I'm very grateful and happy to be able to celebrate the 10th anniversary with my brothers and Dowoon. I think this 4th full-length album 'The Decade' will be a meaningful album that we can remember by looking at the records we left in the distant future.
Dowoon: I think this album will be remembered as a party with my brothers and My Day (official fan club) for the first time in 10 years.
- I'm curious about the reason why you performed the double title song for the first time since your debut. 'Why are the 'Dream Bus' and 'Inside Out' selected and I'll work on each title song and make this the title songWas there a moment when you were sure that '
▶Sungjin: I wasn't sure which song would be good, but I wanted to show you both the colors 'Dream Bus' that has DAY6 colors and the new challenge 'Inside Out'.
Young K: I think the two title songs have the most contrasting yet intense charm. The two songs 'Dream Bus', which has dreams, and 'Inside Out', which shows various colors, seem to represent various aspects of DAY6.
Won-pil: When we were working on the song for the 10th anniversary, 'Dream Bus' was like us the most, and 'Inside Out' was meaningful because it was an adventure-like track. I think you can feel the richness when you listen to it because it's a genre that's opposite.

▶Sungjin: Our past, present, and future 'Day6', itself is my dream.
Young K: For me, the dream is 'happiness' and 'hope'. There are moments when I feel like I'm going to lose my happiness in my life, but every time I do, I won't hold on and let go.
Won-pil: Making good music as DAY6 and showing good performance as Kim Won-pil of DAY6. I think these two are the dreams that I never want to leave behind and that I want to continue to achieve in the future.
Dowoon: My dream is simple. DAY6, I don't want to miss this at all.
- Another title song 'Inside Out' contains a message that expresses one's feelings confidently without hiding one's favorite feelings. If there's anything you want to say to the members who have been with us.

▶Sungjin: I think we're in the process of working towards the modifier 'the band that sings every moment' In this album, I like 'Our Season' best. I think music is still fun because I don't know what kind of music I'll be doing in the future.
Young K: I like 'Our Season' the most. Maybe it's a song about what I wanted to say the most. I think hope, love, excitement, and memories are all melted. There are so many genres that I want to try in the future. Please look forward to it.
Won-pil: I want to pick the last track of this album, 'Our Season'. It's a song that was a great comfort in the process of working and recording, and I really like the atmosphere of the song. Also, personally, I'd like to try a song that feels overwhelming with a mix of band sound and EDM!
Dowoon: I'd like to pick the bus of my dreams. Music that I can sing with My Day rather than a specific genre always gives me a happy feeling.

▶Sungjin: It wasn't enough to be grateful for being with me for the 10th anniversary of Goyang's solo concert, but I felt like I even received a gift from My Day. The day I play with My Day is really memorable as happy moments. Most of all, I think I can greet this now because of My Day. The target venue has not been set, but it's great wherever DAY6 and My Day are together.
Young K: Is it possible to be with a lot of My Day on this stage since the rehearsal??Yeah. I also thought, "You're living a happy life." I hope all the people who were there are precious and have a great memory.
Won-pil: I couldn't believe every moment since I came back from the blank period. We're going to perform 360 degrees? You're going to Gocheok Dome? You're going to have an outdoor concert at Goyang Sports Complex? These question marks continued. It started as a small performance of Yes24 Move Hall in 2015, but I'm still puzzled and grateful that I'm going to perform an outdoor performance that I've always dreamed of at Goyang Stadium in time for the 10th anniversary. It's all thanks to My Day. The venue I want to go to in the future is where My Day wants to go!
Dowoon: It's all thanks to My Day that made DAY6 and allowed us to stand on the big stage. I don't have a specific place in mind. However, I want to do my best to show a good performance wherever I go.
- This year marks the 10th anniversary of his debut on September 7, 2015 with 'Congratulations'. What is the most memorable moment and what do you want to try anew.
▶Sungjin: I think the moments I spent with My Day are the most memorable. Looking at the eyes and expressions of the fans gives me the strength to do things that I thought I couldn't do. Everything I do will be a new challenge, but as I have done so far, I want to move forward on a path where everyone, including me, can be healthy and happy.
Young-K: Many moments are imprinted, but I hope these days are the most memorable. These days, I feel like I'm living my dream, and I'm shedding tears of relief. So in the future, I want to live doing things I want to do comfortably. One of them is continuing to challenge new music.
Won-pil: There have been unforgettable moments every year since our debut, but I think the end-of-year concert in December 2023 is the most memorable. I've been looking forward to that day for quite a long time, but I can't forget the moment I only imagined unfolding in front of my eyes. I was really thankful to the members, Dowoon, My Day, and all the staff. I think music is what I want to try again. DAY6 can do various genres, so I'm looking forward to the songs I'll write in the future. I will continue to work hard to be recognized for my music, as I've done so far. I think that's the right way for us to do it.
DOWOON: The most memorable moment was when the members got together after 4 years, just like Wonpil. In the future, I want to take good care of my body and mind's health and make music fun.

▶ Sung-jin: It's a little different from what I dreamed of at the time, but I realized how difficult it is to happily perform music with the people I'm with, whether it's big or small. "You've done a great job. Let's continue to do a great job"
Young K: The process was quite different from how I drew it, but I think I ended up getting there somehow. The way I look now is quite similar to the future I drew. What I want to say to me after 10 years of running is "Yes, well done".
Won-pil: I think I dreamed of now 10 years ago. for knowing and loving our music. I'm so amazed and thankful that the images that I've been drawing in my head are facing reality in front of me. It hasn't been an easy road for 10 years, but first of all, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for hanging in there. "Let's not think too much now, let's not be impatient, let's be together slowly and for a long time without hurting our body and heart?"
Dowoon: I think my goal was to always stay as I am now, rather than having a big dream. "Let's keep up the good work"
- What has changed the most in a decade and what is still going on.
▶Sungjin: Wouldn't the appearance have changed the most over time?(laughs) I think I still have a personality that likes people.
Young K: I think what's still going on is the people, what's changed is the skill. I trained myself to climb, and I got stronger by bumping into it. But it's still there.
Won-pil: Taking good care of the people around you! I think this changed the most. In the past, I only thought that I should write good songs and improve my skills, but I think I realized the importance as time went by. I still want to make good music and play it for you! It doesn't change!
Dowoon: I think the biggest change is that I got to know myself a little better than when I was just a rookie. What I think is still the same is the older members who are by my side and my day.
