JYP’s Park Jin-young Named Co-Chair of Presidential Committee on Popular Culture Exchange



JYP Park Jin Young-ho will appear on October 1st.

President Lee Jae-myung said on the 24th that 'Popular Culture Exchange Committee' will take the first step strongly to support the global leap forward and development of our pop culture. The Popular Culture Exchange Committee is an organization established to strengthen public-private cooperation and expand the network in various fields with leaders leading the cultural industry. I am confident that it will greatly contribute to strengthening the foundation of our cultural industry and leading the Republic of Korea to become a true global cultural powerhouse."

On the 9th, President Lee established the Presidential Committee on Popular Culture Exchange and selected JYP Entertainment CEO Park Jin-young and Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Choi Hwi-young as co-chairs.

Park Jin-young said, `I thought a lot about taking on the government job because it was too burdensome and worrisome for entertainment industry workers in many ways, but now K-pop is facing a very special opportunity, and I am determined to make good use of this opportunity.' `I will work hard to organize the parts that I wanted to have institutional support while working in the field so that effective support can go, and to help junior artists get more opportunities. And I will do my best to help K-pop take a leap forward and become a place where people around the world understand and interact with each other beyond promoting our culture"
