'The Haunted Palace’ Climbs to Top Ratings as Yoon Gap’s Spirit Separates in Shocking Twist

Yoon Gap's spirit, played by Yook Sung-jae in SBS' Friday-Saturday drama 'Going Palace', was separated from the body of the octagon, and the development accelerated.

In episode 12 of 'Guigung', which aired on the 24th, Kang Cheol-i (Yook Sung-jae), Yeori (Kim Ji-yeon), and Lee Jung (Kim Ji-hoon) were shown approaching the tragedy of the royal family 100 years ago by securing 'Gwangammunjip' containing the true nature of the octogenarians.

In particular, at the end of the play, the scene where the octogenarians vomit the spirit of Yun Gap was shocking as the ending was decorated. Yook Sung-jae increased the immersion of the play by acting emotionally to and from screams and confusion, and the intentions of the octogenarians were also veiled, adding to the tension.

The broadcast on the same day ranked first in the same time period as well as in the daytime miniseries category, with a national viewership of 9.7%, a metropolitan area of 9.1%, and a highest viewership of 10.6% (based on Nielsen Korea paid households).

In the play, Kang Cheol-yi suffered the death of her younger brother Bibi (Cho Han-gyeol) and fell into a deep sense of loss and sobbed as she witnessed the betrayal of Lee Jung-eun's maternal grandfather Kim Bong-in (Son Byung-ho). The conflict is reaching its peak as the secrets of each character, including Pungsan (Kim Sang-ho), Oedari (Lee Tae-gum), and Choi Won-woo (information), are revealed.

Now that Yoon Gap's soul has returned, expectations are rising for the final chapter, which will reveal the next step of the Eightfold Gui and the hidden truth in the 「Gwangam Munjib」.

'Going Palace' airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m.
