Director Kang Hyung-chul expressed his feelings about releasing the movie High Five after overcoming the risk of Yoo Ah-in.

Coach Kang Hyung-chul met with Sports Chosun at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 29th and said, `I feel like I finally found my place because I met with the audience.'

Released on the 30th, 'High Five' is a movie about what happens when five people who accidentally acquire superpowers meet with those who want their superpowers, and director Kang Hyung-chul took the megaphone.

Director Kang visited the theater for the first time in seven years since the movie 「Swing Kids」 released in 2018. Director Kang said, `I feel like I finally found my place because I met the audience at the theater.' `I was moved because I felt that I had settled down where I should have been.'

After filming in 2021, the release date of 'High Five' was postponed due to controversy over drug administration by its lead actor Yoo Ah-in. Director Kang said, `There was support from my colleagues around me. The actors asked me if I lost weight due to heartache, but it's not like that at all, but I've become healthier. I usually like to walk, so I walked a lot, but I lost a little bit of weight." When asked if Yoo Ah-in had been contacted ahead of the release, he said, "An apology has been contacted," he replied briefly.

He also explained why he did not edit the amount of Yoo Ah-in. Director Kang said, "The movie should be made with an overall ensemble, not just one actor," adding, "If the amount is edited for external reasons, the work will inevitably be damaged. If Yoo Ah-in's part is edited, the audience's enjoyment of watching Lee Jae-in's action acting and Ahn Jae-hong's lovely speech-flavored acting will disappear."

In the meantime, "I believe the actors' beautiful acting will offset it. I think a movie has half success and half failure. I wanted to film an entertainment movie while preparing for 'High Five', and I wanted to feel the joy of being picked out at a video store when I was young. I hope that the audience will play the movie with that kind of heart," he said of the wind.
