The K-precious fantasy historical drama 'Going Palace' is creating a sensation not only in domestic viewership but also in the global OTT market.

SBS's Friday-Saturday drama "Going Palace" is a fantasy romance involving a shaman named Yeo-ri (Kim Ji-yeon), Lee Mu-gi-steel (Yook Sung-jae), and King Lee Jung (Kim Ji-hoon), who rejected the fate of Young-mae, attracting viewers with a solid narrative and immersive acting by actors. In particular, 'Guigung' has emerged as a representative SBS work in 2025 as it has maintained its No. 1 rating for three consecutive weeks in the same period as it entered the third week of domestic broadcasting.

Foreign reactions are also explosive. It ranked No. 1 in the Asian genre in Lemino, Japan, No. 1 in the drama category in Taiwan Hami Video, Vietnam VieON, and Indonesia Vidio, and 8.6 points (as of May 7) in IMDb, a global rating site. In particular, Rakuten Viki ranks first in 89 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Australia, with an unusual rating of 9.7 points, leading the global expansion of the genre of 'K-Precipients'.

The favorable reviews from overseas media are also continuing. Pierce Conran, a reporter for the South China Morning Post (SCMP), praised \'Goong' is a drama that delicately intertwines elements of shamanism, weapons, and treasures, capturing all fear, mystery, and romance. In addition, the Indian-based media Leisure Byte evaluated that "a thousand-year-old weapon and a human tiki-taka bring both laughter and warmth" and that "dramatic fun is clearly alive in the midst of confusion.'

In the play, Kim Ji-yeon is leading the sense of immersion with a mysterious female character, and Yook Sung-jae is acclaimed for portraying Lee Geom-ki in three dimensions, which goes between comic and seriousness. Kim Ji-hoon is showing a heavy presence as King Lee Jung. In the 6th episode, which was recently broadcasted, the tension reached its peak, depicting the joint operation of characters trying to remove the octagonal ear as a failure and the development of threatening the fetus of the heavy war (Han So-eun). In particular, the scene where Kang Cheol-yi recognizes her sincerity toward Yeo-ri and Yeo-ri gets injured while chasing Makdol maximized expectations for the next episode.

The production team says "Genre experiments and character-oriented emotions are creating a consensus among viewers around the world."'Guigung' is positioning itself as a work that has opened a new horizon for K-genre beyond simple fusion historical drama."

Meanwhile, SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Going Palace'Episode 7 will air at 9:55 p.m. on the 9th.
