From doubt to love. The relationship that started as a sister-in-law changes subtly over the course of 12 years. Actor Jo Bo-ah returned to her emotional amplitude acting by choosing historical drama 'Tangeum' as her first return after marriage, and Lee Jae-wook again wears hanbok and leads the deep narrative as an unidentified person.

On the morning of the 13th, a production presentation for Netflix's original 『Tangeum" was held at the Sindorim Ramada Hotel in Guro-gu, Seoul. Director Kim Hong-sun, Lee Jae-wook, Jo Bo-ah, Jeong Ga-ram, Um Ji-won, and Park Byung-eun attended the meeting to talk about the work.

'Tanggeum' is the story of the upper-level son 'Hongrang' (Lee Jae-wook), who disappeared 12 years ago and returned with a loss of memory, and his half-sister 'Jaei' (Jo Bo-ah), who is the only one who suspects him. The title 'Tangeum', conceived from the name of ancient punishment, contains the pain and longing of those who try to escape their fate like "The pain of swallowing gold until death".




Director Kim Hong-sun, who directed the novel, said, `After reading the original novel, I was instantly fascinated. 'Missing' emotions transform into various forms and become love, resentment, and compassion. This work follows such a complex flow of emotions."

Lee Jae-wook, who played the character Hong Lang "Returning after 12 years, Hong Lang makes me question who I am. It starts out as a mystery in the beginning, but as the relationship with the characters is gradually revealed, the emotional line deepens."There are many live-oriented actions, so there is a different energy from previous historical dramas."," he added.

Jo Bo-ah was originally scheduled to return to Disney+ 'Nockoff' but turned to 'Tangeum' when the work was put on hold. In this regard, Jo Bo-ah "I'm very excited, nervous, and worried that it will finally be released after a long shoot and a late work. 'Jai' is a character who has a wide range of emotions from longing to doubt and love. He expressed the emotional line delicately between Mujin, his brother who only looked at himself, and Hongrang, who leaned with love at the boundary," he said.




At the same time, the leading actors also shared their feelings about each other's teamwork. Lee Jae-wook was " (Jo Bo-ah) a partner who felt the sincerity of the attitude and acting. I had no choice but to act along. 'Watching and listening' is just the right expression,' he confessed. Jo Bo-ah also responded, `I came to respect actor Lee Jae-wook by feeling his sincerity and passion.'

Jeong Ga-ram of Mujin, who took the position of successor to the Minsangdan in place of Hongrang's vacancy, said "As the episodes are repeated, there are many changes in emotions."

Eom Ji-won said, "'Min-yeon' is a cruel but fascinating character who believes that the cause of the disappearance of her son Hong-rang is Jae' and expressed it thoroughly in fashion, clothes, and mise-en-scène."."




Park Byung-eun played the role of the great leader of the Minsangdan and the father of two siblings. He explained "Ambitious man who is quiet on the outside but moves more fiercely than anyone else inside." Regarding his relationship with Eom Ji-won, he hinted that "while fighting against each other, like 'Showwundos and his wife\'."

Through Netflix, Tangeum, which met viewers around the world, is faithful to the texture and historical evidence of traditional hanbok as it aims to be released globally, and has a modern OST and artistic perfection. Director Kim Hong-sun raised expectations even further by saying, `Kwon Jin-ah participated in the OST, which doubled the unique atmosphere of our work.'

The mystery melodrama 「Tangeum" will be released on Netflix at 4 p.m. on the 16th, with immersive stories ranging from 'Hongrang' and 'Jai' and 'Jai', each of which has secrets and plans.
