The movie Zombie Daughter revealed a behind-the-scenes story of special makeup.
Sua (Choi Yu-ri) became the last zombie daughter in the world from the only adolescent daughter of Jeong-hwan (Cho Jung-seok) in the play. Unlike the terrifying beings seen in existing zombie movies, it is scary, but somehow it is a bit sad and uninteresting, but it is captivating the audience with its lovely charm. Choi Yu-ri conducted a high-level special makeup for 300 days from pre-production to filming in order to completely transform into her zombie daughter Su-ah herself. The makeup, which took two hours every day, was applied in a total of four stages according to the flow of the play and the character's emotional change, adding details. It was never an easy process, but Choi Yu-ri silently endured all the processes to properly immerse herself in Sua, showing amazing concentration, drawing admiration from the production team, including director Pilgam-seong, and receiving praise for the scene of "'Zombie Daughter" as the most grown-up is Choi Yu-ri".

In order to complete the realistic zombie visual, the makeup team started making special lenses only for Sua. Since the existing special lens was the size of a 500 won coin and was difficult to wear for a long time, it was requested to a U.S. company to develop a customized lens that greatly reduced the burden of wearing by finely adjusting the size while producing similar visual effects. In particular, various concept lenses were separately produced to express Sua's eyes, which vary from moment to moment depending on the situation and emotions even while she became a zombie, and after testing all lenses, she was able to select and utilize lenses suitable for each scene.

Bamsoon (Lee Jung-eun), who drew attention for her all-time synchronicity, also mobilized a high-level special makeup as high as zombies to digest characters higher than the actual actor's age group. Through numerous makeup tests of various age groups, the original's charm was alive and the most adorable-looking visuals were adopted, and Lee Jung-eun, along with Choi Yu-ri, was reborn as the grandmother of Manjit Bamsoon after a two-hour makeup process. We can't leave out Dong-bae (Yoon Kyung-ho)'s Thor makeup here. It is a comical situation, but the production team decided that if the quality of the makeup was poor, the laughter could be halved, from wigs to makeup to costumes, and the artisan-level details created the No. 1 laughter button 'Dongtor'.
Meanwhile, 'Zombie Daughter' is a comic drama about a father of a daughter who went into top-secret training to protect her daughter, who became the last zombie in the world, and is showing high praise.
