Ko Hyun-jung Transforms into Serial Killer in Gritty New Drama ‘The Mantis: Original Sin’

SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Warts: The Murderer's Outing' (directed by Byun Young-joo, scripted by Lee Young-jong) which will premiere on September 5 has unveiled a breathtaking script reading site. `Murder's Outing' is a high-density crime thriller in which a detective who has hated his mother all his life conducts a shocking investigation with her mother after a crime that imitates a rare serial killer caught 20 years ago.
Director Byun Young-joo and writer Lee Young-jong, as well as actors Ko Hyun-jung (played by Jung In-shin), Jang Dong-yoon (played by Cha Soo-yeol), Cho Sung-ha (played by Choi Joong-ho), and Lee El (played by Kim Na-hee), gathered at the recent script reading site. The actors overwhelmed the scene with their breathtaking concentration from the first meeting.
In particular, Ko Hyun-jung, who completely transformed into a serial killer 'warts', delivered eerie expressions with just one expression, leading to praise that 'Ko Hyun-jung' is also 'Ko Hyun-jung'. He completed the character 'warts' with a detailed performance of his speech and eyes.
Jang Dong-yoon played the role of Cha Soo-yeol, a detective who joined hands with a serial killer's mother, proving his wide acting ability to go beyond deep wounds and intense charisma. It heralded the discovery of another Jang Dong-yoon with his intense masculinity and restrained emotional performance that had not been seen before.
Above all, the strange chemistry between Ko Hyun-jung and Jang Dong-yoon, who met each other, was so intense that it made the scene suffocate. Expectations were raised as the emotions of the two people who came and went between the poles collided and what kind of shock they would give.
Choi Joong-ho, the chief of the violent crime investigation team, and Lee El, Kim Na-hee, the head of the violent crime investigation team, expressed a solid presence. The two raised their trust by taking the center stage of the play with their stable acting skills.
