K-Pop and Global Stars Unite in New Apple TV+ Series ‘KPOPPED’

KPOPPED is a music competition series in which top K-Pop artists and overseas pop stars team up to present a new reinterpretation of each other's hits. Psy, who made K-Pop known to the world with his global hit song 'Gangnam Style', and 'KPOPPED', which drew attention with the appearance of Megan Thee Stallion, a three-time Grammy-winning superstar, confirmed its release on August 29 and released the trailer.
Global stars and K-Pop idol groups representing the pop music industry will gather together to present a new reinterpretation of each other's representative songs at KPOPPED, which was produced by Lionel Richie and CJ Vice Chairman Lee Mi-kyung. Actor and comedian Son Soo-jung, who impressed viewers with Apple Original 'Servant'?Search Party, hosted the event. In each episode, global pop stars and K-Pop stars team up to practice and rehearsals in a limited time to present a bold collaboration stage that breaks down the boundaries of the genre. The winner of the day will be selected by on-site audience voting for live performances in Seoul, and an intense finale performance of the K-Pop group will be held at the end of each episode. Predicting a brilliant collaboration that no one expected, 'KPOPPED' (KPOPPED) consists of a total of eight episodes, which will be released worldwide simultaneously on Apple TV+ on August 29 (Fri). Apple TV+ is also available on the Apple TV app for Android and TVing.
K-Pop stars Billy, ITZY, Kepler, JO1, ATEEZ, STAC, Kiss of Life, and Black Swan. And pop stars Megan Thee Stallion, Patti LaBelle, Spice Girls' Mel B and Emma Bunton, Vanilla Ice, Taylor Dayne, Kesha, Eve, J Balvin, Kylie Minogue, TLC, Boy George, Jess Glynne. From legendary pop stars to rising newcomers, the artists will share each other's stage and music style, giving the audience a new musical experience with a reinterpretation of their generational hits such as 'Savage', 'Wannabe', 'Ice Ice Baby', 'Lady Marmalade', 'Can't Get You Out of My Head', 'Motown Philly', and 'Waterfalls'.
KPOPPED' (KPOPPED) was executive producer Moira Ross, Lionel Richie, CJ Vice Chairman Lee Mi-kyung, Meghan the Stallian and Greg Foster, and CJ ENM's music content director Shin Hyung-kwan, Hong Joon-ki's strategic promotion director and producer Kim Ki-woong, who boasts unique expertise in content production such as K-Pop variety shows and music channel Mnet, participated together. In addition, Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Denning, David Tibals and Bruce Escowitz of Eureka Productions under Fremantle were named in the executive production.
