Woods will release a digital single 'I Will Never Love Again' through various music sites at 6 p.m. on the 24th. The single contains the title track of the same name and the track 'Smashing Concrete'.
This digital single is about facing repeated daily routines and situations that are taken for granted, and today, I want to look at it differently. And it contains a message to the listeners that they hope to be songs that ask the question,"How will you look at it?"
The title song 'I'll Never Love Again' is an alternative rock track based on folk sensibilities, and Woods' vocals with delicate emotional lines are combined to represent the breakup, pain, and determination of love.
The song "Smashing Concrete" was pre-released as a visualizer video in July, drawing hot attention, and it is an alternative metal track that combines Woods' rap and vocals. The message 'Let's break down the obstacle' is put into the powerful guitar and drum sound to convey explosive energy and a sense of freedom.
The music video for 'I'll Never Love Again' will also be released on the same day. Various forms of love, Woods' passionate performance, and the magnificent sound of the song have been combined to complete an intense narrative and overwhelming visual beauty.
This single is the first new song in about a year and nine months since the release of 'AMNESIA' in December 2023, and it is also the first new song to be released after being discharged from the military. Again, Woods wrote and composed his own music color.
Woods proved his unrivaled presence during his military service, writing a myth of reverse driving, topping major music charts such as Melon TOP100, Genie, and Bugs, and topping music shows, and still remains at the top of the chart. In particular, the stage video of the military uniform 'Drowning' presented in the KBS2 'Immortal Masterpiece' Armed Forces Day special has been steadily drawing attention, exceeding 20.29 million views on YouTube.
The following is a full text of questions and answers with Woods
Q1. This is the first album release in about two years since I was discharged from the military. How do you feel about the release.
Starting with this release, I am very excited to start full-fledged activities such as albums and concerts. Some said that it was burdensome because it was the first release after being discharged from the military, but I was able to enjoy working on it. I was grateful for the opportunity to pay more attention to my music with the reverse driving, and I prepared hard to repay the fans who waited. Starting with this digital single, we will show you more music.
Q2. Please briefly introduce the title song 'I'll Never Love Again'.
It means 'I don't love you again' in literal translation, but what I'm trying to convey is not just a conclusion, it's more of a question to the listeners. If the last moment of separation or the end of love comes, will I be able to choose that love again or not. I hope you can enjoy it while thinking of your own answers.
Q3. Please introduce the song 'Smashing Concrete', which was the talk of the town when it was pre-released as a visualizer video last month.
It contains information about the limitations. If you want to go up, you always step up. I thought that's how a slump comes along. So I thought the wall was concrete, and I put a message in it that the people around me tell me to go back, but I need to break it to get to the next level. There are many things about stress, and I made it with the hope that it would be a society where each person breaks down their own stress well.
Q4. Can you tell us about the highlights of the two songs?
The title song 'I'll Never Love Again' will be grander if you feel the lyrics together while focusing on the rising emotional line and the sound of each session. I think you will be able to feel the flow of emotions and tension as it is. 'Smashing Concrete' is a song with a strong band sound, so I hope you enjoy it excitedly.
Q5. What is the most important part when working on each song?
I tried to be honest with you. I think this single is the most obvious song that I've ever released. Every album, when I write an introduction, I express this ambition to do honest music, and while working on these songs, I tried to be honest and I wanted to show myself more like myself.
Q6. I heard that you worked hard in the music video for the title song, such as flying in the air or shooting in front of a hot fire. Is there any special episode or point to watch out for?
It was my first wire shoot and everyone said it would be hard, so I was worried, but it was better than I thought. The feeling of flying in the sky was rather fun. The scene in front of the fire seemed less realistic, so I took it closer, and as a result, I think a more dynamic scene came out.
Q7. I'm also curious about the musical direction going forward and what kind of artist do you want to grow into.
I want to always be independent of music and make authentic music. I want to be an artist who makes specific things that I really want to do and show, rather than thinking that I need to make more music like this since it went well. The goal is 'Artists who can tour stadiums around the world. In the process, if I constantly communicate with my fans and show them the things I want to show in a balanced way, I believe that one day I will reach that goal and live my life dreaming.
Q8. Is there anything you want to say to your listeners and fans?
These songs are completed only when your interpretation is added. I hope you enjoy it in your own way and fill the song with your own interpretation! I always sincerely thank you and love you.
