Ryu Deok-hwan played a pastor with warm beliefs in JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama "Beautiful Than Heaven" (directed by Kim Seok-yoon, scriptwriter Lee Nam-gyu, Kim Soo-jin, production studio Phoenix, SLL), and led the play's emotions in a stable manner by portraying delicate emotions and solid inner sides.
About his first meeting with Son Seok-gu, Ryu Deok-hwan once visited the cafe he ran during his acting break. At that time, he was filming 'The Outlaws 2', and he showed the edited version and kept complimenting himself on how cool he was. At first, I thought it was a little strange, but when I saw his works, I felt that he was a really good actor."
Then "It was amazing that an actor who was acting like this appeared. "Someone who performs an improbable performance…" said Ryu Deok-hwan, who expressed his admiration, adding, "I thought it would be heavy and serious, but he was actually a light and pleasant person with charm.'
As a director, the evaluation of Son Seok-gu was deeper. Ryu Deok-hwan said, `If I were to choose the actor I want in this scene, it is definitely Son Seok-gu. He is an actor who knows how to bring out what he has as much as possible while acting comfortably. As a director, I really want to be with you someday" he said.
He also confessed that his work with director Kim Seok-yoon made him think a lot about his attitude as a director. "When directing, I was worried that every word would hurt someone. It takes too long to spin it and work on it. However, in the end, I felt that the field was a place where professionals gathered, and the director had a responsibility to clearly present the direction.
Liu Deok-hwan said in his book `Beautiful Than Heaven' that acting was always difficult and scary, but in this work, after putting everything down, I got an unexpected feeling"The experience has changed me greatly"I told him how I felt.
Meanwhile, 「Beautiful Than Heaven」, in which Ryu Deok-hwan appeared, ended with 8.3% nationwide (based on paid households) and 8.9% in the Seoul metropolitan area on the 25th (based on Nielsen Korea).
