From Ko Hyun-jung, Lee Young-ae, and Kim Go-eun...Kakao Entertainment Appears in the Line-up of 'Trust and Treasure' in the Second Half of the Year



Kakao Entertainment (CEO Kwon Ki-soo, Jang Yoon-joong, hereinafter Kakao Entertainment) shook the global market in the first half of this year with well-made works such as 'I was completely deceived'Badyeon'Nine Puzzle' and will also solidify its popularity in the second half of this year with the lineup of 'Midibobae'.

Based on a stable studio system, Kakao Entertainment is solidifying its global studio position by strengthening organic synergy and IP crossover competitiveness between its headquarters and production labels.

Three of the 11 Korean films that made it to Netflix's TOP100 series in the first half of this year are Kakao Entertainment's production of 「"I was completely deceived" (19th place, 34.8 million viewers),"The phone you just called" (77th place, 14.3 million viewers)", and"A bad performance" (92nd place, 12.7 million viewers). In particular, 'badyeon' and 'The Phone You Called Now' are self-produced dramas based on webtoons and web novels of the same name, adding differentiated charm to the fun of the original and proving know-how to use IP.




The first runner of the second half of the year will be SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama `The Devil: The Killer's Going Out' (first aired on Sept. 5).

The movie, produced by Mega Monster with Merry Christmas and BoJo at a film production center, is a high-density crime thriller in which a serial killer arrested 20 years ago "The Devil" conducts an imitation crime investigation with his mother, a detective. Is it the island where Ko Hyun-jung plays the serial killer Jeong In-shin and Jang Dong-yoon plays the detective Cha Soo-yeol?A mother-son relationship sparks tension.

The Netflix series Eun Jung and Sangyeon (released on September 12) depicts the lives of two friends, Kim Go-eun and Park Ji-hyun, who are intertwined from their teens to their 40s. It completes a panoramic narrative by unraveling the relationship that loved each other the most and was jealous of each other in detail.




KBS2's new Saturday-Sunday drama 'Eunsu Good Day' (first broadcast on September 20) stars Lee Young-ae as Kang Eun-soo, an ordinary housewife with a drug bag in her hand, and Kim Young-kwang as Lee Kyung, a mysterious teacher who lives a double life. Wind Pictures and Slingshot Studio will be in charge of the production and will tell a fierce story that crosses the boundaries of good and evil.

Meanwhile, Kakao Entertainment plans to attract domestic and foreign viewers with solid actors and original genres in the second half of the year.
