MBC and NCAI sign MOU for AI transition (AX) in media and contents

MBC and NCAI signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for AI transformation (AX) in the media and contents field at MBC Sangam headquarters in Seoul on the 19th.

Ahn Hyung-joon, CEO of MBC, and Lee Yeon-soo, CEO of NCAI, attended the signing ceremony, and the two companies agreed to cooperate in establishing a new content value chain linking the media, AI, and game industries.

Through this agreement, the two companies plan to jointly develop AI models and core technologies in the media and content sectors, and contribute to the spread of global K-culture through AI transformation in the media and content industry.




MBC has led the convergence of content and advanced technologies in a changing media environment based on abundant content assets and production know-how accumulated for more than 60 years.

NCAI was selected as the organizer of the consortium in the 'Autonomous AI Foundation Model Project' organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT. As a consortium participant, MBC plans to prepare a standard for AI transition in the media and content industry by combining broadcast production and empirical know-how accumulated over 60 years.

Lee Yeon-soo, CEO of NCAI, said, "This cooperation is an important first step in applying the AI foundation model technology that NCAI has accumulated in earnest to the media and content industries. Based on cooperation with MBC, we will strengthen the global competitiveness of K-AI through AXs in various industries and realize AI innovation that can be felt by the public."

This strategic alliance is expected to create synergy between MBC's content leadership and NCAI's global-level technology, innovating the AI ecosystem in the media and content sectors, and providing a new driving force for the development of the AI industry in Korea.
